Crime Writers of the World Unite. The Launch Of A New Magazine And Website: Aspects of Crime
It is with a great sense of both delight and pride that we can announce that Aspects of History will be launching a sister site, Aspects of Crime.
AoC will be dedicated to crime writing, spy fiction and true crime. Launching this September, the new venture will encompass a website, bi-monthly magazine and podcast.
The principal aim will be to provide a platform for crime authors to help raise their sales and profile. We believe in promoting both bestselling and debut writers alike – and therefore introducing authors and readerships to one another.
One of the reasons why we have decided to launch AoC at this time is that we have found the right editor to shape and head-up the new chapter in our story. Paul Burke possesses a wealth of knowledge and infectious enthusiasm for crime writing. He is the experienced host of the CrimeTime podcast, as well as the author of the forthcoming Encyclopaedia of Spy Fiction. He is the perfect steward of the magazine. If God hadn’t created Paul, Aspects would have had to invent him.
The new magazine will be full of articles, interviews, short stories and book reviews. An annual subscription will cost just £9.99/$9.99. The site will publish new content each week. Crime is a serious issue of course, but crime writing can be and is fun. We should rightly celebrate our crime authors. We have some of the best crime and thriller writers in the world. The UK is also home to a diverse and knowledgeable readership base. We all love a bit of death and violence. AoC will also be a home to spy novelists and espionage writing. Nobody does it better.
Authors will have the opportunity to arrange Author Platforms on the site, where they will be able to promote new and backlist titles in an ongoing, long-term fashion. AoC will look to host dinners and drinks for its contributors. It’s heartening that we already have a number of Aspects of History writers signed-up to arrange platforms on the forthcoming site. We are similarly happy to hear from new crime and thriller authors interested in promoting backlist books and titles due out from August onwards. Like Aspects of History, AoC will be an engine to promote the right books to the right readers.
Subscriptions will be available from September.
