His previous books include Defying Hitler (written with Gordon Thomas) which was a top-five pick in both USA Today and the New York Post. A number of his books have been optioned for TV and film, including Shadow Warriors and Aberfan: A Story of Survival, Love and Community in One of Britain’s Worst Disasters, which Greg wrote with the remarkable Gaynor Madgwick who lost a brother and sister in the disaster and was seriously hurt herself.

Over the past 30 years he has amassed a large archive of interviews with war veterans and searched for stories from inside Occupied Europe.

He has written and produced dozens of TV documentaries, including two series of Cold Case Forensics (ITV). His programmes have won two New York Festival Gold Medals and a BAFTA Cymru.

As a journalist Greg has contributed to many national and international newspapers including The TimesThe ObserverThe Wall Street Journal, and the investigative pages of Private Eye.

Over the years he has covered his ears during a live firing exercise in a rainforest, been hit in the face by a paper missile blown by a Luftwaffe ace, received cartoon hate mail from a violent criminal, been assaulted by one of the FBI’s Most Wanted, and made Buzz Aldrin look disappointed.

When he is not writing, he is reading or – weather permitting – watching cricket at Glamorgan, where he is also a volunteer with the Museum of Welsh Cricket.
